TKS-D is a tank destroyer that was developed as a result of intensive design work carried out by the Technical Research Bureau for Armored Weapons.

History of TKS-D:

TKS-D, also known as the “tank-mounted Bofors 37 mm infantry gun carriage,” was a prototype self-propelled gun developed in Poland in the 1930s. In February 1936, work began on the construction of an artillery tractor that would be capable of transporting and firing the Bofors 37 mm anti-tank gun. This project was a response to the growing needs of the Polish army for mobile anti-tank units.

The design work was led by a team under the direction of engineer R. Gundlach, and the vehicle's construction was based on the chassis of the C2P artillery tractor. In April 1937, the construction of two prototypes was completed, which were incorporated into the Reconnaissance Squadron of the 10th Motorized Cavalry Brigade. Unfortunately, both prototypes were destroyed during the September campaign of 1939, as confirmed by the accounts of the officers of the reconnaissance squadron.
