The plastic model for assembly represents the Polish half-track artillery tractor C4P from the period before World War II. This detailed model in 1:72 scale is an excellent representation of one of the key vehicles used by the Polish Army in the 1930s.

History and use of C4P:

The C4P tractor was the Polish version of the half-track truck wz. 34, which was based on the licensed Polish FIAT-621 truck. The project was developed in 1934 at the Technical Research Bureau for Armored Weapons in Warsaw, with engineer E. Habich as the chief designer. Serial production lasted from 1935 to 1938 at the PZInż plant in Czechowice near Warsaw, where approximately 400 vehicles of various versions were produced, including at least 80 C4P artillery tractors.

C4P tractors were introduced into the 1st Motorized Artillery Regiment in Stryj, replacing the French Citroën-Kegresse P14 and P17. During the mobilization in 1939, based on the 1st pamot, three motorized artillery battalions were organized, which participated in the September campaign. These tractors were used in both field artillery and anti-aircraft roles, making them versatile military vehicles.

The C4P was powered by a FIAT-122B carbureted engine (PZInż. 367), a 6-cylinder inline engine with a power of 46 HP at 2600 rpm. This engine powered the tracks, and the gearbox had 4 forward gears and 1 reverse gear, with an additional terrain reduction gear. The front suspension was based on semi-elliptical springs with hydraulic shock absorbers, while the rear suspension was a track mechanism with a swing-arm roller system for guiding the tracks. The tracks were pinless, 300 mm wide, made of a rubber-steel construction, which was a modern solution for that time.
