A set of 1:72 scale figures depicting Polish dismounted uhlans from the September Campaign of 1939. Product of the Polish manufacturer First To Fight, released as part of the "September 1939" series, which includes a specialized historical leaflet describing formations and equipment from that period.

The history of the use of Uhlan units in the Polish army dates back to the Napoleonic Wars and the era of the Congress Kingdom. During the Second Polish Republic, Uhlan regiments were considered one of the most elite units of the Polish Army. Just before the outbreak of World War II, in 1937, the Polish cavalry underwent a reorganization, which resulted in the formation of cavalry brigades composed of 3 or 4 regiments. In 1939, Poland had 27 Uhlan regiments.

Contrary to popular myths created by propaganda, Polish uhlans in 1939 used horses mainly for rapid marches, while combat was most often conducted as dismounted units. They used modern small arms and effective anti-tank weapons, demonstrating high training and morale on battlefields such as Mokra or Krojanty.
