The "Prost!" Between battles on the Bergepanther 1:35 model kit from ICM is a unique set that transports us to the realities of life on the front lines for German soldiers during World War II. Bergepanther – historical background:

The Bergepanther, also known as Bergepanzerwagen V (Sd.Kfz. 179), was a German recovery vehicle used during World War II. It was a variant of the Panzerkampfwagen V Panther tank (Sd.Kfz. 171), developed in response to the challenges of evacuating heavy and medium tanks. The development of this vehicle began in 1943, and its production was handled by companies such as MAN, Henschel, Daimler-Benz, and DEMAG.

The first Bergepanthers were nearly completed Panther Ausf. D tanks, from which the turret was removed. This vehicle was equipped with a winch with a capacity of 40 tons and a simple crane arm with a lifting capacity of 1.5 tons. Thanks to its armored construction, the Bergepanther could be used even under enemy fire, making it reliable in its role.

Between 1943 and 1945, approximately 339 Bergepanthers of various versions were produced. These vehicles were mainly used as tow vehicles without turrets, and some of them lacked winches or outriggers, which limited their functionality. Nevertheless, Bergepanthers were crucial in evacuation operations, enabling the safe withdrawal of damaged tanks from the battlefield.
