The model depicts the Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf. B tank, more widely known as the King Tiger or Royal Tiger, in the version with the Henschel turret. It was one of the most powerful tanks used by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Its thick armor and powerful 88 mm gun made it an extremely formidable opponent on the battlefield. Despite its impressive strength, the King Tiger also had its drawbacks, such as its heavy weight, which limited its mobility and caused mechanical issues.
Historical background: The "Rhine Tiger" model refers to events from 1945, when German armored forces resisted the advancing Allied troops on the western bank of the Rhine. At that time, the King Tiger, commanded by Horst Heimann, participated in battles against American M4 Sherman tanks. Despite its advantage in encounters with the M4, German forces were forced to retreat across the bridge at Remagen to avoid encirclement by approaching Allied units. During this operation, on command from the high command, one of the King Tiger tanks was left behind to monitor the movements of Allied forces.
