Description
Plastic model airplane for assembly: PZL P.11c 1:48 Arma Hobby 40002
A plastic model for assembly depicting the legendary Polish fighter aircraft PZL P.11c in 1:48 scale. It is one of the most important designs in the history of Polish military aviation, forming the core of air defense in September 1939.
History of the original:
The PZL P.11c, commonly known as the "eleven," is a Polish single-engine fighter with a metal structure and a characteristic gull wing (the so-called Polish wing). The "c" version was the most widely produced and most refined variant of this aircraft. Compared to earlier versions, it featured a lowered engine and a raised pilot's cockpit, which significantly improved visibility. Although in 1939 it was slower than modern German machines, thanks to its exceptional maneuverability and the skill of Polish pilots, it effectively resisted the invader, achieving numerous aerial victories.
Marking variants:
- PZL P.11c, 131st Fighter Squadron from Poznań, in 1939 in the "Poznań" Army. After circling over the Bzura River on September 17, Second Lieutenant Henryk Bibrowicz (2 kills) and Second Lieutenant Lech Grzybowski (2 kills) evacuated the aircraft to the Małaszewicze airfield and left it there. After the outbreak of war, the emblem on the fuselage and the checkerboards on the upper wing surface were painted over.
- PZL P.11c, 122nd Fighter Squadron from Kraków, in 1939 in the "Kraków" Army. Aircraft of Cadet Władysław Chciuk (2 kills), damaged in combat on September 1 and left at the Bielsko-Aleksandrowice airfield. After the outbreak of war, the emblem and the number "8" on the fuselage, as well as the checkerboards on the tail and upper wing surface, were painted over.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement) are required. The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
