The Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 1 was a German tank destroyer that resulted from the modernization of older Raketenjagdpanzer 2 models. Between 1978 and 1982, 316 units of Raketenjagdpanzer 2 were converted into Jaguar 1 by replacing the SS.11 missile system with a modern HOT launcher and reinforcing the armor. From 1993 to 1995, these vehicles were further upgraded by adding new optical and thermal imaging systems, resulting in the Jaguar 1A3 version.
Technical specifications of the original vehicle:
- Weight: 25.7 tons
- Length: 6.61 m
- Width: 3.12 m
- Height: 2.55 m
- Crew: 4 persons (commander, gunner, loader, driver)
- Armor: 50 mm
- Main armament: 1× HOT missile launcher with automatic loading, 20 missiles
- Additional armament: 2× MG3 machine guns caliber 7.62 mm, 8× smoke grenade launchers

The Jaguar 1 was a key element of the Bundeswehr's anti-tank defense, thanks to its ability to destroy tanks using guided missiles. Its design was based on the chassis of the Kanonenjagdpanzer, which provided good mobility and protection on the battlefield.
