Plastic military model kit: Renault AHN2 French truck 1:35 ICM 35419

Plastic model of the French Renault AHN2 truck in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. The kit allows for the reproduction of one of the most characteristic trucks from the World War II and post-war period, distinguished by its unusual cab design without an engine hood.

History of the original

In 1939, Renault began work on a new series of cab-over trucks, the AH series, for the French army. The AHN model, with a payload of 3.5 tons, featured a simple design with a flat cab and no engine hood. The first prototype was created in February 1940. The vehicle was powered by a 6-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 4.1 liters and an output of 75 HP.

Mass production began in March 1941, already under German occupation administration. After the factories were liberated by the Allies in 1944, production resumed under the designation AHN2. The vehicle served both in the French military and was sold to civilian customers. Production lasted from November 1944 to June 1946 - a total of 8400 units were produced.
