Plastic military model kit: Russian infantry fighting vehicle BMP-2 1:35 Zvezda 3554
A plastic model representing the Russian BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle, which is one of the most recognizable designs of this type in the world. This vehicle is a development of the concept of its predecessor, the BMP-1, introducing significant changes in armament and armor, which allowed it to effectively support infantry on the modern battlefield.
History and characteristics of the original:
The BMP-2 (Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty-2) entered service with the Soviet Army in the 1980s. The main change compared to the first version was the replacement of the 73 mm low-pressure cannon with a modern, 30 mm 2A42 automatic cannon. This allowed for effective engagement of not only lightly armored targets, but also low-flying helicopters and aircraft. The vehicle is fully amphibious, which allows it to overcome water obstacles on the move, and is adapted for air transport. The crew consists of 3 people, and the troop compartment accommodates up to 7 infantry soldiers.
Kit specification:
- Scale: 1:35
- Model length: 20 cm
- Number of parts: approx. 300
- Model armament: 30 mm automatic cannon, PKT machine guns and anti-tank missile launcher
- Included: gray plastic sprues, assembly instructions, decal sheet
The model offers detailed reproduction of the hull, turret, and running gear. Thanks to the included decals, it is possible to create a miniature in the colors of the Russian Army, including from the period of operations in the North Caucasus.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, you need separately sold modeling tools (e.g. nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes and glue for plastic models (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
