This plastic model kit represents the Russian strategic nuclear submarine Yuri Dolgoruky (K-535), which is the lead unit of Project 955 (Borei class). Submarines of this class were designed as successors to the Typhoon and Delta IV units, forming the backbone of the Russian maritime nuclear triad.

Historical background:
Project 955 Borei is a modern generation of SSBNs, characterized by advanced stealth and the use of pump-jet propulsion, which significantly complicates their detection. Yuri Dolgoruky was launched in 2008 and entered service in 2013. The unit is armed with 16 R-30 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles and 533 mm torpedo launchers.
