Historical background:
Project 955 Borei is a modern generation of SSBNs, characterized by advanced stealth and the use of pump-jet propulsion, which significantly complicates their detection. Yuri Dolgoruky was launched in 2008 and entered service in 2013. The unit is armed with 16 R-30 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles and 533 mm torpedo launchers.
