Plastic model airplane to assemble: RWD-13 September 1939 1:48 Answer AA48026
A plastic model of the Polish tourist airplane RWD-13 in the colors from September 1939. This machine was one of the most successful designs of the Experimental Aviation Workshops, gaining recognition both in the country and in foreign markets.
The RWD-13 featured a mixed construction in a high-wing configuration with a fixed landing gear. Thanks to its excellent flying characteristics, short takeoff and landing distance, and high stability, it was an ideal tourist airplane. In the face of the outbreak of World War II, many of these machines were mobilized and served as liaison and sanitary aircraft.
Model characteristics:- Scale: 1:48
- 3 marking options to choose from
- Faithfully reproduced airframe construction
Historical background:
The prototype RWD-13 was first flown in 1935 as a development of the sports machines RWD-6 and RWD-9. Between 1936 and 1939, about 100 units were produced. The aircraft was powered by a PZInż Walter Major engine with a power of 130 HP. Outside of Poland, these machines flew in Brazil, Spain, Estonia, and Palestine.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (e.g. cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and glue for plastic models (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
