Plastic model depicting the Sd.Kfz. 234/1 Schwerer Panzer-Spahwagen in 1:35 scale. This is an advanced kit from Rye Field Model, featuring a full interior representation (Full Interior Kit).

The Sd.Kfz. 234 was a German heavy armored car from World War II, designed as a successor to the Sd.Kfz. 231 (8-Rad) series. Work on the vehicle began in 1940, and mass production took place between 1943 and 1945. The design was based on a self-supporting chassis with eight-wheel drive, which, combined with the 220 HP Tatra 103 engine, provided excellent off-road performance and a high top speed of up to 80 km/h. A unique feature of the vehicle was the dual driver's station (front and rear), which allowed for quick withdrawal from the battlefield without the need to turn around.

The Sd.Kfz. 234/1 version was a reconnaissance variant, equipped with an open-topped, hexagonal Hängelafette 38 turret. The main armament consisted of a 20 mm KwK 38 automatic cannon and an MG42 machine gun paired with it. The turret was protected by nets against hand grenades. These vehicles served in the elite reconnaissance units of the Wehrmacht's armored divisions on all fronts of the war.
