Vehicle history: The Sd.Kfz. 250/1, also known as a light armored personnel carrier, was designed for the needs of the German mechanized forces in 1939. Its main task was to support tanks during offensives, serving reconnaissance, command, as well as a radio and observation vehicle. The vehicle's design was based on the Sd.Kfz.10 chassis, from which many elements such as tracks and road wheels were borrowed. The vehicle was powered by a Maybach HL 42 TRKM engine with an output of 100 HP, allowing it to reach speeds of over 75 km/h.

The Sd.Kfz. 250/1 was produced from mid-1941 until the end of the war, with a total of 6628 units manufactured. The 250/1 version was the standard infantry carrier, capable of accommodating a four-person crew. It was armed with a MG 34 machine gun at the front, protected by armor, and optionally had an additional machine gun mounted at the rear for anti-aircraft defense.

Use in history: Sd.Kfz. 250/1 vehicles were widely used on all fronts where German armed forces fought. In particular, they were used by units such as the Kradschutzen-Bataillon 'Grossdeutschland', Panzergrenadier Division 'Grossdeutschland', as well as by the 11th and 14th Panzer Divisions on the Eastern Front in 1942.
