Description
Plastic military model kit: Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.A 1:35 ICM 35101
The Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.A is a German medium half-track armored personnel carrier that became one of the most recognizable Wehrmacht vehicles during World War II. Developed by Hanomag based on the chassis of the Sd.Kfz.11 tractor, it was designed to transport motorized infantry (Panzergrenadiers) directly to the battlefield, providing them with protection against small arms fire and artillery shrapnel.
The Ausf.A version was the first production series, manufactured between 1939 and 1940. It was characterized by a specific arrangement of armor plates and visors for the crew in the side walls of the troop compartment. The vehicle was powered by a 100 hp Maybach HL 42 TURKM engine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 53 km/h. These transporters took part in the September Campaign, the fighting in France, and the initial phase of Operation Barbarossa on the Eastern Front.
