The BAe Sea Harrier is a British single-seat vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) fighter, attack, and reconnaissance aircraft. This design originates from the 1950s when Hawker Aircraft and Bristol Siddeley Engines developed the revolutionary Pegasus turbofan engine with thrust vectoring. Thanks to four movable nozzles, the aircraft gained the ability to operate from small airfields and the decks of ships not equipped with traditional runways.

The Sea Harrier FRS.1 version entered service in 1978 and became a legend during the Falklands War in 1982.
