Description
Plastic model kit: SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A 1:48 Airfix 11010
A detailed plastic model of the Anglo-French supersonic strike aircraft SEPECAT Jaguar in the GR.1 and GR.1A versions. The 1:48 scale kit from Airfix offers high precision and 243 construction elements.
The SEPECAT Jaguar was the result of a collaboration between France and Great Britain that began in 1965. Originally planned as a trainer aircraft, it evolved into a specialized strike and close air support machine. In RAF service, the Jaguar GR.1 debuted in 1974 with No. 54 Squadron. These aircraft, stationed mainly in Germany, were a key element of the rapid reaction forces during the Cold War. The GR.1A version took part in Operation Granby (Gulf War) in 1991, flying over 600 combat missions without own losses. The last Jaguars were withdrawn from RAF service in April 2007.
