A plastic model kit depicting the German twin-engine multi-purpose aircraft Siebel Si 204 A in 1:72 scale. The set prepared by the Czech manufacturer Směr offers the possibility of building a miniature of the machine that played a significant role in training and transport during and after World War II.

History and construction of the original:

The Siebel Si 204 is an all-metal low-wing aircraft with a semi-monocoque construction. The Si-204V1 prototype first flew on May 23, 1941. The A-1 version, on which this model is based, was originally designed as a passenger aircraft for airlines (accommodating 8 passengers) and as a transport machine. It was powered by two Argus As 410 engines, each producing 360 hp. A characteristic feature of the A version was the classic crew cockpit with clearly separated windows, unlike the later, fully glazed D version.

The production of these machines took place not only in Germany but also in occupied France (SNCAC plants) and in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (Aero and MBB plants). After the war, production continued in Czechoslovakia under the designation Aero C-3 and in France as the Nord NC-701 and NC-702 Martinet, where they served, among others, in the colors of Air France and in military aviation during the conflicts in Indochina.
