The model kit depicts a Soviet 82 mm caliber mortar along with a crew in winter uniforms from the period 1941-1943. These mortars provided crucial fire support for Soviet infantry during World War II, characterized by high mobility and simplicity of design. In winter conditions, these units often used special sleds for transporting equipment and ammunition, allowing for quick movement in difficult terrain.

The mortar model wz. 1937 (82-BM-37) was the basic support weapon at the battalion level.
