Plastic figure kit for assembly and painting: Soviet machine gun squad Berlin 1945 1:72 Zvezda 6269
A set of 1:72 scale figures depicting a Soviet machine gun squad during the Battle of Berlin in 1945. The models were developed as new molds in 2020, ensuring high quality of detail and precision of execution.
Historical Background:
The Battle of Berlin, which lasted from April 16 to May 9, 1945, was the last major land operation of World War II in Europe. The Red Army concentrated powerful forces for this assault, including about 2.5 million soldiers and an unprecedented number of artillery pieces. Fire support units equipped with heavy machine guns played a key role in street fighting and breaking through strongholds. Although the modern SG-43 HMG was introduced in 1943, the proven, albeit heavy, Maxim M1910 designs, which became one of the symbols of the Soviet infantry, were still widely used in frontline units.
Set Characteristics:
- Scale: 1:72
- Number of parts: 22
- Figure height: approx. 2.4 cm
- Theme: Soviet soldiers from the WWII period
- Historical painting: Red Army, Berlin, May 1945
The set allows for the creation of a realistic scene featuring a machine gun crew, making it an excellent addition to dioramas depicting the final stage of the war in Europe or as an element for wargames.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement) are required. The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
