Description
Plastic model aircraft kit: Spitfire Mk.IX WWII Aces 1:48 Italeri 2843
A plastic model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:48 scale, released by Italeri in a special edition dedicated to World War II flying aces. The Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most important and successful versions of this legendary aircraft, introduced as a response to the appearance of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190. Thanks to the use of the Rolls-Royce Merlin 60-series engine with a two-stage supercharger, the machine regained an advantage over the enemy at high altitudes.
The kit allows you to build the model in the markings of one of five famous RAF aces:
- F/Lt Pierre Clostermann
- W/Cdr James E. Johnson
- F/Lt Jan Falkowski
- S/Ldr Russell Foskett
- F/Lt George Beurling
Model specifications:
- Model length: 20.0 cm
- Scale: 1:48
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, you will need separately sold modeling tools (e.g., nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
