History and achievements: The Honda Civic Type R EK9 is the first Civic model to receive the prestigious Type R emblem. It was launched on the market on August 19, 1997, and was available exclusively in Japan. The Civic Type R EK9 was known for its excellent performance, which was the result of numerous modifications compared to the base Civic SiR (EK4) model. The car was equipped with a hand-ported DOHC VTEC B16B engine, which featured one of the highest power-to-liter ratios among naturally aspirated engines. As a result, the Civic Type R EK9 could accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in just 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 225 km/h.
In 1998, a Motor Sports version was introduced, which was more stripped down, lacking many amenities, aimed at further reducing the vehicle's weight. In 1999, the Type Rx version appeared, which was more comfortable, equipped with electric mirrors, air conditioning, and other conveniences.
Spoon Sports, a well-known Japanese tuning company, created a racing version N1 of this model, increasing the engine's maximum revs to 11,000 rpm, further emphasizing the sporty character of this car.
Contents of the kit: The model includes detailed parts such as a Spoon rear spoiler, aero mirrors, and distinctive star-shaped SW388 wheels. The decals included in the kit allow for accurate reproduction of details such as logos and interior elements.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
