Soviet self-propelled gun SU-122
The SU-122 is a medium Soviet self-propelled gun from World War II, built on the chassis of the legendary T-34 tank. The vehicle was designed as an assault gun intended to support infantry and armored units, armed with a powerful 122 mm M-30 howitzer.
Mass production began in early 1943 and lasted until mid-1944, when the SU-122 was replaced by specialized tank destroyers SU-85. A total of 638 units of this machine were produced. These vehicles participated in the most important operations on the Eastern Front, including the Battle of Kursk.
