History of the Su-22UM3K aircraft:
The Su-22UM3K is a training-combat version of the Su-22 fighter-bomber, which is an evolution of the Su-17 design. These aircraft were produced in the USSR and entered service in the 1970s. Poland purchased 90 operational machines in the Su-22M4 version and 20 training-combat versions in the Su-22UM3K version. The first Su-22 landed in Poland on August 28, 1984.
Poland was one of the few countries that operated the Su-22 outside the USSR. These aircraft were stationed at the 21st Tactical Aviation Base in Świdwin. In the 1990s, Polish Su-22s underwent modernization, which included the installation of new navigation and flight safety systems. In 2025, the Su-22 aircraft were officially retired from service in the Polish Air Force, and their last display took place during the Radom Air Show 2025.
Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
