A plastic model kit depicting the Soviet fighter-bomber Sukhoi Su-17/22UM-3K in 1:48 scale. This is a two-seat trainer-combat version of the popular "Fitter", characterized by variable-sweep wings.

History of the original:
Sukhoi Su-17 (designated as Su-20 or Su-22 in export versions) is a Soviet jet aircraft that became the first USSR design equipped with variable-sweep wings. The UM-3K version is an advanced trainer-combat variant, developed to prepare pilots for operating modern strike aircraft. These planes were widely exported to Warsaw Pact countries (including Poland) as well as countries in the Middle East and Africa. Thanks to their robust construction and powerful armament, these machines formed the backbone of tactical aviation for many armies around the world for decades.
