History and achievements: The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVIII was one of the most advanced variants of the Spitfire, created out of the need for a more advanced fighter. The F Mk.XVIII version introduced a series of improvements, such as increased fuel tank capacity, reinforced wings allowing for the carrying of rockets or bombs, as well as cockpit enhancements for the pilot. With these modifications, the Spitfire Mk.XVIII became an even more versatile and powerful combat aircraft.

Although the production of this version amounted to only 300 units, these aircraft played a significant role in operations after the end of World War II. The Spitfire Mk.XVIII participated in Operation "Firedog" and in battles against communist partisans during the Malayan Emergency. The F.Mk.XVIII version was equipped with standard E-type wings, while the FR.Mk.XVIII version additionally had a camera for reconnaissance tasks.
