Plastic model airplane kit: Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I Early - Beginning of the Saga 1:72 IBG 72580
This plastic model kit of the British fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I in its early production version is titled "Beginning of the Saga" and allows you to build a miniature of one of the most iconic aircraft of World War II, which played a key role during the Battle of Britain.
The Supermarine Spitfire is a completely metal low-wing aircraft with characteristic elliptical wings, designed by R.J. Mitchell. The first production machines were delivered to RAF units in 1938. The Mk.I version was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin II engine with a power of 1030 HP. This aircraft became a symbol of British resistance and victory, remaining in various developmental versions in production for over a decade.
The kit features high-quality craftsmanship and includes a rich array of additional equipment:
- Plastic parts made of light gray and transparent material
- Photo-etched brass detail sheet
- 3D printed elements (resin)
- Decal sheet with multiple marking options
- Color assembly and painting instructions
Available painting options include historical machines from 1938-1939, including:
- No. 19 Sqn. K9789 - August 1938, RAF Duxford
- No. 19 Sqn. K9851 / WZ-I - March 1939, RAF Duxford
- No. 36 Maintenance Unit L1066 - August 1939 (example intended for Poland)
- No. 611 Sqn. L1033 / FY-K - September 1939
- No. 66 Sqn. K9790 - August 1938
- No. 72 Sqn. SD-H - June 1939
- Hypothetical painting of Polish military aviation for the L1066 aircraft
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
