The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star is an American, single-engine, all-metal, low-wing jet trainer aircraft. The T-33 was developed from the F-80 Shooting Star fighter by lengthening the fuselage by approximately 96 cm (38 inches) and adding a second seat for an instructor under an enlarged canopy. The prototype's first flight took place in March 1948, and mass production continued until 1959, resulting in 5,691 units produced.

The aircraft was powered by an Allison J33-A-35 turbojet engine, which allowed it to reach a maximum speed of around 970 km/h. The T-33 became one of the most popular jet-era trainer aircraft, serving in the air forces of over 20 countries for nearly 40 years. In addition to training tasks, these machines were used for reconnaissance (RT-33A version), as target drones, and in some countries as light attack aircraft.
