Plastic model kit: T-70B Soviet light tank 1:72 Zvezda 5078

The T-70B is a modernized version of the T-70, developed from July 1942, with production starting in October of the same year at the GAZ factory in Gorky and factory number 38 in Kirov. The B modification differed from the early T-70 tanks with a new reinforced chassis, modified exhaust outlet, and a new driver's hatch. By the end of 1942, a new welded gun shield was introduced, and in the spring of 1943, exhaust pipe shields and a stamped driver's hatch appeared.
The T-70B was armed with a 20-K 45 mm gun and a DT 7.62 mm machine gun, and the hull was armored with plates 15–45 mm thick. Maneuverability was provided by two twin automotive engines with a total power of 70 HP, which meant that the noise produced by the tank while driving was no louder than that of a regular truck. The T-70B tank became the second most widely used Soviet tank during the war. These vehicles were deployed in most tank and mechanized units of the Red Army, survived the entire war, and served until victory.
