Plastic model car kit: Talbot Lago Grand Prix 1949 1:24 Smer 0953
A plastic model kit depicting the legendary French racing car Talbot-Lago T26C in the 1949 Grand Prix version. The set was prepared by the Czech manufacturer Smer in 1:24 scale and offers modelers the opportunity to build a replica of one of the most characteristic racing cars of the post-war era.
Historical background:The Talbot-Lago T26C is a French racing car that debuted in 1948. This design was a development of the brand's pre-war successes, combining proven technical solutions with a new, powerful engine. The car was powered by a 6-cylinder in-line unit with a capacity of 4.5 liters (often classified as 4.9l depending on the specification), generating about 280 HP. This allowed for a top speed of around 270 km/h.
The car made a golden mark in the history of motorsport, winning the Belgian and French Grand Prix in 1949. In the modernized T26C-DA version, it also triumphed in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1950, and in subsequent years achieved success in, among others, the Australian Grand Prix.
