History and significance of the 37 mm wz. 36 gun:
In the mid-1930s, Poland began an ambitious program to modernize its armed forces, which included the introduction of modern anti-tank guns. In 1935, after positive tests of the prototype Bofors 37 mm L/45 gun in Poland, it was decided to purchase it and produce it under license. This gun, known as wz. 36, became one of the basic elements of the armament of the Polish Army.
The wz. 36 gun was valued for its accuracy, ease of operation, and ability to penetrate armor up to 25 mm thick from a distance of 1000 meters. It was an effective weapon against contemporary tanks, making it an essential element of anti-tank defense. At the outbreak of World War II, the Polish Army had over 1300 units of these guns, which played a significant role in the Defensive War of 1939, destroying many German armored vehicles.
Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
