The Tiger I, also known as Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. E, was one of the most powerful tanks used by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Its production began in August 1942 and ended in August 1944, with a total of 1,347 units produced. This tank was armed with a powerful 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun, which was an adaptation of the famous Flak 36 anti-aircraft gun, known as the "eighty-eight".

The Tiger I was mainly used in independent heavy tank battalions and participated in many key battles, including the Battle of Kursk in 1943, where it was commanded by the famous tank ace Michael Wittmann. This battle was one of the largest tank battles in history and had immense strategic significance for both sides involved.

Despite its power, the Tiger I also had its drawbacks. It was complicated to produce and expensive to maintain. Its complex design often led to failures, especially in difficult terrain conditions such as mud or snow, which could immobilize the tank by blocking its running wheels. Nevertheless, the Tiger I was valued for its firepower and armor, which made it a formidable opponent on the battlefield.
