The Tiger I tank, also known as Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E, was one of the most famous German heavy tanks used during World War II. Introduced into service in 1942, the Tiger I was the first German tank equipped with the powerful 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun, capable of destroying most Allied tanks at long ranges.
