Historical background: The Toyota 92C-V is a prototype racing car built by Toyota as a Group C vehicle, and later as an LMP. This car participated in the 24-hour Le Mans race for three years and in the final year of the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship in the 1992 season. In 1992, three cars were entered in the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, where they achieved four podium finishes in six races, although they did not manage to secure a victory.
During the 1992 24-hour Le Mans race, two Toyota 92C-V cars with numbers #34 and #35 qualified in 11th and 15th places, respectively. They were the only cars in the Group C2 class that started the race. Both vehicles finished the race, with number 34 in 9th place overall, and number 35 improving its position to 5th place, completing 346 laps, 6 laps behind the winner.
In 1993, the cars were updated and renamed to Toyota 93C-V, participating in the race with numbers 22 and 25. Both cars finished the race, achieving 1-2 places in the C2 category and 5th and 6th places overall.
In 1994, after the end of the Group C era, Toyota updated the cars to the 94C-V version, which competed in the new LMP1 class. Despite transmission issues that prevented an overall victory, Toyota achieved 1-2 places in its class, with the car number 1 finishing the race in 2nd place overall.
