History of Tupolev-144D: Tupolev-144D is a modification of the original Tu-144, equipped with RD-36-51A engines, which allowed for an increased range of up to 5300 km. The Tu-144 prototype made its first flight on December 31, 1968, two months ahead of the British-French Concorde. Serial production began in 1971, and by 1984, five examples of the Tu-144D version were built.

The aircraft with registration number SSSR-77112 made about 50 cargo flights on the Moscow – Khabarovsk route. It is currently on display at the Technik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany.
