Description
Plastic model airplane to assemble: Tupolev Tu-144 1:144 ICM 14401
The Tupolev Tu-144 was the world's first supersonic passenger aircraft, designed by the A.N. Tupolev design bureau. The prototype took to the skies on December 31, 1968, two months ahead of the British-French Concorde. Serial production of the aircraft began in 1971 at the Voronezh factories.
The aircraft featured groundbreaking technical solutions, being the first passenger machine to exceed a speed of 2 Ma. Despite its innovation, the design faced technical problems and high fuel consumption. Regular passenger flights on the Moscow - Almaty route took place from 1977 to 1978.
