History of the vehicle:

The Type 320 (W142) Saloon was one of the key models in Daimler-Benz's pre-war offering. Produced from 1937 to 1942, this car found wide application in the German army after the outbreak of World War II. A total of 4037 units of this model were produced. With the onset of hostilities, most Type 320 vehicles were requisitioned and used for the personal transport of high-ranking officers and generals of the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe. These cars were utilized on both the western and eastern fronts until the end of the war.

The Type 320 (W142) was available in various body styles, including a closed four-door sedan. Longer versions of the vehicle had an extended wheelbase of 420 mm, allowing for greater variety in body style selection. Customers could choose from many standard body options, including various convertible and limousine versions. The most luxurious versions, such as the "Stromlinien-Limousine," featured a modern, aerodynamic body.
