USAF Paint Set (Vietnam War Era) 6x17ml Hataka HTK-AS09
Acrylic paint set from the Red Line series, containing the standard camouflage colors used on United States Air Force (USAF) aircraft in the 1960s and 1970s, including during the Vietnam War.
Historical Background:In the 1960s, the USAF introduced two new paint schemes. The aircraft of the Air Defence Command, responsible for the defense of U.S. territory, received a uniform gray camouflage ADC Grey (officially introduced in 1959). In 1966, a three-color South East Asian (SEA) camouflage scheme was introduced for tactical and strategic aviation (TAC and SAC), commonly known as the "Vietnam Scheme".
Contents of the Set:- HTK-A045 Air Defence Grey (FS16473) - standard color for air defense aircraft (including F-101, F-106, F-4).
- HTK-A012 Dark Tan (FS30219) - used on the upper surfaces in SEA camouflage of TAC aircraft.
- HTK-A016 Dark Green (FS34079) - used on the upper surfaces in SEA camouflage of TAC and SAC aircraft.
- HTK-A021 Medium Green (FS34102) - used on the upper surfaces in SEA camouflage of TAC aircraft.
- HTK-A039 Camouflage Grey (FS36622) - used on the lower surfaces in SEA camouflage of TAC aircraft.
- HTK-A041 Night Black (FS37038) - used on the lower surfaces of F-111 aircraft and SAC machines in SEA camouflage.
