The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), also known as the L-ATV (Light Combat Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle), is a light multipurpose vehicle developed by Oshkosh. It was selected as part of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle program conducted by the U.S. Army, aimed at partially replacing older HMMWV vehicles. The JLTV offers a level of protection comparable to heavier MRAP-class vehicles, but in a more compact and maneuverable form. In August 2015, the L-ATV was selected as the winner of the JLTV program. The first order for JLTV delivery was placed in March 2016 by the U.S. Army. The JLTV achieved initial operational capability in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2019. The vehicle is used by various military formations, including the army, marine corps, air force, and navy of the USA.
