Plastic Model Kit for Assembly: USMC UH-1Y Venom 1:35 Academy 12138
The Bell UH-1Y Venom is a modern American multi-role helicopter that forms a significant part of the equipment of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) aviation. This aircraft was designed as a deep modernization of the proven Huey family, aiming to replace older UH-1N units. Although its silhouette harks back to the classic predecessor from the Vietnam War era, the Venom is in fact an almost entirely new design. It is equipped with two powerful General Electric T700-GE-401C engines, modern "glass cockpit" avionics, and a four-bladed composite main rotor, which significantly improved performance, payload capacity, and survivability on the modern battlefield.
Academy's model, catalog number 12138, is a completely new tooling kit, offering modelers the highest level of detail and manufacturing precision. The kit allows for the construction of a faithful replica of the Venom helicopter in 1:35 scale, taking into account the specific equipment used by the USMC.
Kit Features:- Includes photo-etched parts and painting masks to facilitate work on the glazing.
- Option to build the main rotor in the folded position.
- Cabin doors can be mounted in the open or closed position.
- High-quality decals offering a choice of one of 5 liveries for USMC aircraft from 2017-2020.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including sprue cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic cement (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photograph shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
