A plastic model depicting the legendary American carrier-based fighter Grumman F-14D Tomcat in the livery of the VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" unit. The F-14 Tomcat was designed as the primary fighter for the US Navy, capable of performing air superiority, escort, and ground attack missions. It was one of the most technologically advanced aircraft operating from aircraft carriers.

The most characteristic design feature of the F-14 is its variable-sweep wings. Controlled automatically by the onboard computer or manually by the pilot, they could change their sweep angle from 20 degrees (during takeoff, landing, and minimum speed flight) to 60 degrees (at supersonic speeds). This solution provided the machine with optimal aerodynamic properties across the full speed range and astonishing maneuverability during dogfights.

The F-14D version, known as the Super Tomcat, was the last and most advanced modification of this aircraft, equipped with more modern avionics, a glass cockpit, and powerful General Electric F110-GE-400 engines. The heart of the armament system was the AN/APG-71 radar, cooperating with long-range AIM-54 Phoenix missiles.
