The OV-10A Bronco and Cessna O-2A Skymaster aircraft played a key role in close air support, reconnaissance, and forward air control (FAC) tasks. The Bronco, due to its maneuverability and rapid response time, became one of the most highly regarded machines in this conflict, while the Skymaster, the successor to the O-1 Bird Dog, was used for target marking and psychological warfare.
