Description
Wooden Deck for Aircraft Carrier Akagi (three flight decks) 1:700 Hasegawa 72124
This premium detailing set is designed for the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi model in the configuration with three flight decks (early and mid-service period). The product allows for a realistic appearance of wooden surfaces, which is difficult to achieve by simply painting plastic parts.
Contents of the set:- Laser-cut sheets of natural wood veneer, perfectly matched to the structure of the model's decks.
- A sheet of photo-etched (PE) parts containing structural details such as windbreaks and small deck equipment elements.
- Specialized transfer sheets (dry decals) with markings for runways and operational lines.
The aircraft carrier Akagi, the flagship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, originally featured a unique system of three staggered flight decks. This solution was intended to allow multiple air groups to launch simultaneously without the need to elevate aircraft from the hangars. During its service and modernization in the mid-1930s, the ship was converted into a unit with a single full-size flight deck. This set allows for the reproduction of the ship's appearance from 1927 to 1935.
Assembly recommendations:- Recommended paints for photo-etched details: Mr. Color SC01 (Dark Gray) or H83.
- For gluing photo-etched parts, cyanoacrylate adhesives should be used.
- The wooden deck has a self-adhesive layer, facilitating precise positioning on the model.
