Plastic military model kit: Werkstattkraftwagen auf RSO/01 1:35 MiniArt 35491

The Werkstattkraftwagen auf RSO/01 was a German mobile field workshop built on the chassis of the RSO (Raupenschlepper Ost) tracked tractor. This vehicle was developed to support the repair of technical units in difficult terrain where standard wheeled vehicles struggled. The tracked chassis provided excellent off-road performance, and the enclosed workshop body allowed maintenance and repair work to be carried out directly near the front line.

The RSO vehicle itself was created in response to the extreme conditions on the Eastern Front, where mud and trackless terrain immobilized German logistics. The design was based on proven components of the Steyr 1500 truck. The workshop version is a rare and extremely interesting variant of this deserving tractor.
