Historical description: The model depicts American paratroopers who played a key role during the landings in Normandy, which were part of Operation Overlord. These were the first combat operations of American forces within this operation. On D-Day, June 6, 1944, 13,100 paratroopers from the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions were dropped into enemy territory to support the landings on the beaches of Normandy. Their task was to secure key bridges and roads to hinder the German response to the invasion.
Additional information: The tools for shaping this model were made in 1975, and the illustration on the packaging was created by William Stallion in the same year. This is a classic set that will surely appeal to both collectors and new modeling enthusiasts.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
