Description
Plastic model aircraft for assembly: Yak-3 1:48 Zvezda 4814
The Soviet Yak-3 fighter aircraft, developed by Alexander Yakovlev's design bureau, is considered one of the most excellent aviation designs of the World War II period. As a development of the Yak-1b model, the project focused on maximizing speed and maneuverability by radically improving aerodynamics and reducing the airframe weight by about 200 kg. The removal of the antenna mast, the retractable tail wheel, and the change in the radiator inlets made the machine an extremely dangerous opponent for the German Luftwaffe.
The Zvezda model in 1:48 scale is a precise replica of this legendary fighter, characterized by high quality of execution and attention to historical details. The set allows for building the model in various configurations, offering modelers a rich interior and a detailed representation of the power unit.
Main features of the model:- Possibility of assembly with the engine cowling open or closed.
- Detailed representation of the VK-105 PF-2 engine and armament.
- High quality of external surface details of the fuselage and wings.
- The set includes decals for three painting schemes, including the famous Normandie-Niemen regiment.
- Length: 8.5 m
- Wingspan: 9.2 m
- Maximum speed: 655 km/h
- Armament: 1 ShVAK 20 mm cannon and 2 UBS 12.7 mm machine guns (in production versions often limited to one machine gun to reduce weight).
A total of 25 units of this type of aircraft were operated in Polish aviation after World War II from November 1944 to February 1946.
Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, you need separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
