A plastic model kit depicting the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-1b fighter aircraft, one of the most important machines of the USSR air force during World War II. The "b" version was a significant modernization of the original design, introducing, among other things, a lowered fuselage behind the pilot's seat and a bubble canopy, which drastically improved visibility from the cockpit – a key element in dogfighting.

The Yak-1b was valued by pilots for its excellent handling characteristics, lightweight construction, and powerful armament, which consisted of a 20 mm ShVAK cannon firing through the propeller shaft and a heavy UBS machine gun. These aircraft took part in the most important battles on the Eastern Front, including the decisive battles over Stalingrad and Kursk, becoming a symbol of the rebirth of Soviet air power.
