The model kit depicting the Japanese battleship Yamato in 1:350 scale is an excellent proposition for model-making enthusiasts and maritime history lovers. Yamato was one of the most powerful battleships built by the Imperial Japanese Navy, and its history is full of dramatic events from World War II.

Historical description:

Yamato was the flagship of the Japanese fleet and one of the heaviest battleships ever built. Its construction began in 1937 at the Kure Naval Arsenal, and it entered service in December 1941. The battleship was armed with nine 46-centimeter guns, which were the largest guns mounted on a warship. Yamato was designed to confront the numerically superior American fleet in the Pacific.

During its service, Yamato participated in many key battles, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf, where its powerful guns were used against American forces. Ultimately, in April 1945, during Operation Ten-Go, Yamato was sunk by American torpedo bombers and bombers, losing most of its crew.
