Vehicle characteristics: The ZiL-131 is an all-wheel drive truck that was mass-produced in the 1970s and 1980s for both civilian and military use. Known for its reliability and excellent off-road capabilities, this truck was used in many different applications. In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, some of these vehicles were modified in the field by equipping them with heavy machine guns, such as the DShKM, transforming them into fire support vehicles capable of engaging lightly armored targets and slow-moving aerial targets.

History and use: The ZiL-131 is a versatile military truck with a payload capacity of 3.5 tons, designed in the Soviet Union by ZIL. The basic model served as a cargo transport truck, but there were also variants such as a tractor unit, dump truck, fuel tanker, and a 6x6 version for towing trailers with four-wheel drive. The ZiL-131 was introduced into production in 1966 as the military version of the ZiL-130, and both models shared many components. Production continued until 2012 at the AMUR plant, when the factory was closed due to bankruptcy.
