About the AH-64 Apache helicopter: The AH-64 Apache is an American attack helicopter designed to support ground forces in challenging combat conditions. Equipped with two turbine engines, it features a distinctive tailwheel landing gear and a tandem cockpit for a two-person crew. Its armament includes a 30 mm M230 cannon and four hardpoints on the wings that can be equipped with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods.
Usage and achievements: The AH-64 Apache is the primary attack helicopter not only for the U.S. Army but also for many other countries, such as Greece, Japan, Israel, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. These helicopters have been used in numerous armed conflicts, including in Panama, the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Israel uses the Apache in operations in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, while British and Dutch Apaches have been involved in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Advanced technologies: The AH-64D Apache Longbow version is equipped with a glass cockpit and advanced sensors, including the AN/APG-78 Longbow radar, which allows for target detection even behind terrain obstacles. This radar can simultaneously track up to 128 targets and engage up to 16 of them. With an integrated radio modem, data can be shared with ground units and other Apache helicopters, enabling coordinated attacks.
